Does "Rex" the hogar in the end of the Wilderness Clearing have any special significance - a reason why he is friendly ?

I didn't kill him, despite tempatation ...

( Just tell me yes or no, please, perhaps its something I have yet to find ... )

Im pretty sure you can get him to join you as a NPC.

Didnt figure it out myself, since I didnt need him at the time.

From what I've been told,At a later point in the game the area will have an army and since rex will follow you you use him to absorb some of the attacks.

Aye, you don't get him to physically join - however, he will follow you. You just have to walk slow or he will head back. He is, as stated, a good damage absorber.

Gee, would feel awful if he followed me like a dog and then get killed later in a fight! Maybe I can try to buff him up when I meet the army so that he survives the whole thing! Imagine a hogar with armourplate, missleshield, margic screen, enchanted blade, razor cloak and superman!

My poor Rex died... A Swallower got him - and just so ya know, even if you kill the swallower the next round, Rex doesn't come back, unlike when he swallows party members.
