Bank job. Take it or leave it?

Rattus offers a bank job in Arnika. Is it worth accepting it?

well, depends on how you are playing the game. remember from the movies how bank jobs usually turn out? everybody running around shouting and shooting, playing cops and robbers? [img]graemlins/shooter04.gif[/img] [img]graemlins/shooter06.gif[/img]

plus everyone involved is practically gonna be taking pictures. [img]graemlins/flash.gif[/img] so that they can remember you guys.

arnika is a great place to use as a home base. not many other places can fill the bill as nicely as arnika does. maybe, but i'm not positive, just maybe that might change if you rob their bank.

there's factions ingame. they remember your actions. that's something to consider. also, in my game, i took the note from him, but never did anything, but still to this day, have never ever found this little rattus to collect on the reward. others report the same thing. so it might be like you were doing it all for nothing, well, other than making people mad at you.

but, of course, if you are playing as an Evil to rival the Dark Savant, go for it.

She shouts robbers, the coppers come, ya fight, kill her (oops) and then kill the coppers...

And what do ya get for it?

Not much, really.

I did it and moved on, and it didn't change my faction with Arnika, so it's fine with me. (No snooty little bank teller to deal with). [img]smile.gif[/img]

Umm yeah. Killing Lorrac and the guards inside only decreases your faction rating with *Arnika Bank*, not *Higardi Common*. Similar stuff happen later in the game, too. I've not tried it, but I think that if a patrol passed nearby and you were fighting the bank guards, they'd move in ... and help you out. Ouch. Not very realistic, no? [img]smile.gif[/img]
(Another interesting thing: you can have Vi kill He'li. I did it. You can vaporise Anna, too, w/o any repercussions, just don't kill any patrols.)
I'm not suggesting, of course, that you go in and kill everyone in Arnika [img]smile.gif[/img]
(killing Braffit is, for example, is not a good idea, because your faction rating with the brotherhood drops... And that's not very good for later on. But that'd be a spoiler [img]tongue.gif[/img] )

Ok I noticed that if you don't kill the bank lady and keep fighting the guards then they keep coming. I don't know how long this goes on. But when I finished killing 12 guards I found alot better items than when I only fought 4. SOOO I'm thinking the goal is to see how long you can keep fighting? I did not spend much time testing it tho [img]graemlins/hippysmile.gif[/img]

Aside from getting loot from killing guards (lol btw), there are ways to effectively rob the bank without using the Rat note, and without leaving any dead people behind.
Just look for the merchant's key cards (Lorrac will let you in one vault by showing her one) and look for an underground path in a jail cell across the street that gets you in the other.

P.S. You *can* accept the job from Rattus and get a couple of items from him but I've no idea if you ever see him again if you actually use his note to rob the place...you can also turn him down and he'll not get angry or go neutral...he really doesn't care one way or the other.

OK now here we go... If you use the note rattus will tell you some words to tell Mr. Calzone (mmmmmm calzone's) that will get you to see the don, where you can kill them both or buy the AD.
however, its easier to kill the don by killing calzone and fighting him alone.
