I have a party which has a fighter, a monk, a bard, a ranger, a priest and an alchemist. They are at about level 6-7. Just now i was almost beaten by a horde of ants...
I play at Normal difficulty. Also a question about the monestary (may contain tiny spoilers): . . . . . I cleared the monestary out, but i think i missed two special items to gain entry to a room and a kind of wall safe. Are the items necessary in the monestary itself or are you supposed to return later because the items are elsewhere? |

Arnika road is a tough road... and it seems very random. I ran through there with some headaches, but survived. Ran into Arnika, got a certain item, ran back (still same level, mind you) and suddenly there's people casting and pulling out elementals on me!
As for the safe.... You might be able to guess this... S P O I L E R It's in Arnika. [img]smile.gif[/img]

It depends on which doors you are talking about...
minor spoiler... . . . . . . .. . . . . . . . There are two keys to be found in the monastery, one opens a door that leads to another area, and one opens a wall safe. The door where you have to have a kind of round key, the "wheel key" is found later as said above, in Arnika. As for the road to arnika, I saved before venturing out. If you are running into too many tough monsters, go back to the save and try again, the monsters seem to be randomly generated at different levels. As for ants, the best strategy is to use the walk to back your players up against a hill so their back is covered. That way at least you won't get surrounded. Andif you have any blind spells or flash powder, try that. Blinded ants will run away, leaving it easier to kill those that stay. They do come back though when the recuperate their sight, so be careful. [img]smile.gif[/img] judee |

The best tip for the roads is to look for the crevasses. Hug the walls, spot the craks and get your party into them pronto. It's worth letting the mobs get a free attack on you to do this, as all of a sudden they will only be able to attack two at a time. Also, make maximum use of powders and potions you found in the monastary, you can re-stock in Arnika.

Actually, as far as I can find... ants can actually "climb" walls where normally other things couldn't get ya. The only exception I have found of this is walls - like physical building walls. Like rocks and such (where yer players can't climb, and plants can't climb), I have seen ants march right up there and attack. Weird. :-/
But that will pass - it's to a point now where when I encounter ants, I whip up an elemental, sit back - pull out my lawn chair, my drinks, my shades, and watch my elemental go to town. [img]smile.gif[/img]
