It says 1 round per power level. So, power level 4 should freeze 4 rounds, correct? Then why does it only last as little as 1 round sometimes? Thanks for any help.

1 round/level is the *optimum* time it will last. Depending on a number of factors (element resistance, etc.) it will sometimes last less than that. At least this is what I figured anyway.

The way I've been figuring it, on all the duration spells (FF, web, sleep, etc), the duration will be as stated, but the target has a chance to "break" it every round. If I web a whole room of critters, some will break or resist it the first round, and not be webbed at all. And some will break it quicker than it's maximum duration. there doesn't seem to be any way to tell ahead of time what its effect will be on a particular creature.

On the topic of Web your chance to break free is a strength modifier. As for Freeze all...(which by the way is normally my first mage spell cast in a battle) is based largely on your casting skill vs. their resist. Right click the mob and notice its water resist...90 on resist is usually a good indication you want some skill in power casting plus a decent 80+ in water...you should have over 100 wizardry by then. You vs. them...you have better skill than their resist, chances are higher you will score the max freeze time, maybe even longer with power casting [img]smile.gif[/img]
