Is anyone who has DX8.1 having any issues with the game? Since installing it (wife plays EQ on her pc, and was required with newest expansion) - her game on her pc has been extremely chopping when you turn - it's a very quick, sudden turn, rather than the smooth turn it used to be (and I already checked pan vs snap scrolling). I notice in the Wiz8 Setup, it only goes to directx7.

well, yeah thats what they used when they made it cause there wasn't anything else.

anyway, i use DX8.1 because i always get the newest releases of anything to do with gaming. LOL.

i haven't experienced that. maybe her card drivers need updating too?

check the settings for her card... is anti-aliasing on? turn it off. if its off... turn it on. aa seems to bother some setups.

make sure that the debug mode on DirectSound Tab in the DX control panel is turned all the way off. sometimes it gets turned all the way up and that's BAD.

maybe a few more specs?

Yeah, had installed DX8.1; then updated sound and video. (All a part of friggin' EverQuest's new requirements).

However, I think I found a "fix."

I ran the Wiz setup again and put it on Direct X6, and no kidding - for whatever reason, this seems to have fixed it.
