i went to marten's bluff and Z'Ant gave me a quest to retrieve a flag from the umpani from mount gigas. In my journal, it is stated that i am aligned with T'rang...

am i stuck with t'rang as my ally?

anyway.. it's ok i guess anyone will do.. but i wanna stick to the good guys

if so happen that t'rang are the bad guys, can i "switch" camp without any repercussion?

thanks a lot!

The good guys are you!
Anything else means they like YOU. Doesn't nessecarily mean you have to like THEM. But the fact they like you could be exploited. Anyway, if you upset them, be prepared to bare the consequences.

If you go to your journal, there's something there for factions... if you are hostile with them, I do not know of a way to repair that...

For example, I accidently (no really!) pissed off some T'Rang by not getting out of the room they told me to leave, so they attacked me.

Now the T'Rang will attack me anytime they see.

You can actually play both sides if you are willing to kill a certain cashier at the commisary.

I think both sides are out for their own benefit and we'll end up enemies with them both in the end anyway so while I can, I am taking advantage of the double agent option to get as much as possible out of them LOL.

I am SO not evil!

You'll come to a point in your alliance with them both though where a decision to play nice with one side or the other will no doubt become necessary.

So far, I have played a double agent and am currently more inclined to work with the Umpani, but I'll have to see if the Mook will accept a letter of alliance from the T'Rang (for the EP's for me and then see what they (the T'Rang) want next.

EDIT: Hmmmm....just read big backwards spoiler! I have neutral alliance with the T'Rang after killing some guys in a room they told me to get out of...another room I can't get by gets me a hostile rating if I kill the sentries inside. Now I am all intrigued as to how I can fix that LOL!

Personally I'd side with the Umpani (between the Umpani and T'Rang... the T'Rang just bother me... but then the Umpani seem like a bossy lot...)

ahhhhhh.... now i see... so i guess i play a double agent then.. to squeeze every single quest out from both camp...

btw, if anyone would like to spoil for me... in which case will i "lose" one alliance, or shall i put it at what point?

due to the fact that the t'rang has a spy in the umpani camp, its best to do the t'rang quests first.

i've done all except the final umpani quest and i've got rid of the spy but somehow, the t'rang still know that i'm a spy. i suspect that completing a particular umpani quest will trigger the double-agent-discovery.

Had already engaged the T'Rang in hostilities earlier so the U/T alliance is unavailable to me in this playthrough, but.. my understanding is that the key to keeping your subterfuge intact (doubleagenthood) is, after accepting each side as an ally and *before* completing any quest from either, visit He'li in Anika. Apparently she is the "loose lips" that lets your secret out of the bag. If you pay her enough gold to keep her lips buttoned, you'll be able to form an alliance between the T'Rang and the Umpani.

I'm far enough in the game now to realize such an alliance would have been the best "good" solution.. big red burning cheeks on my chars after their dressing down from each side for being so shortsighted, sigh..

I had paid HeLi but was still found out.
I reloaded, paid HeLi, killed the cashier, turned him in for being a spy, got more EP's from the Umpani for it and have thus far been able to maintain my double agent status.

Had I figured out the back way into the one room where I killed some sentrries to get by I'd still have a favorable rating with the T'Rang as opposed to the Neutral status I earned through murder.
