is anybody working on any tutorials or help files, etc.?
i'm getting ready to update the faq and would like to include links or even integrate anything like this.

i'm adding "faqlets" which are short little how-to's on a specific question. each will be it's own page, but linked to out of the structure of the faq page.

any comments or suggestions are welcome as well.

Manikus, I think there really needs to be some Doc of the logic block event. I know this has been said B 4, I was just hoping someone has done one or is willing to do one.

Manikus, I talked about the FAQ or tutorial for the Logic Block event earlier in this post. I have a few questions about that and another one that puzzled me now. First off, as soon as I get my 'puter workin' agin (after shooting it... just kidding...lol) I'll put a bit of work into trying to figure out the logic block event and one other that I think needs some 'splainin', tha GLPL or whats-it-called that is supposed to let you do scripting of conversations. The questions are all about the conversation scripting event, so first off, if not Richard, then who made it? and is there a tutorial or FAQ about that?

Assuming I get on the DC B4 its completed and everyone else knows how to do it, I'll be up for playing around with these events to help with any tutorials or FAQ or whatnot that may be published in the future. The only other consideration for such a project is is there anyone out there doing one already or interested in doing one? Once I get back up and running I got like a bunch of design ideas and I will be taking on a few projects other than my designs like maybe doing a tutorial... I like the idea of giving "newbies" a little taste of how-to, and maybe even some of the mod-design etiquette (like not having to fight the same 6 orcs every 5 steps...)

Besides I like being busy with stuff, it keeps me from pondering existence and losing touch (play music from "psycho" at this point... )

the GLPL (i hope that's right 'cause i can't remember either) is the work, i think, of paul stevens, or it might just be that he knows more than anybody else about it. i know that he and harri polsa (i think) had talked about a way to use it to simulate using a phonebooth...way over my head at the time. i don't have anything in the faq about it all, b/c i don't know anything about it, but there may be something in the help file. and i don't think anybody is working on writing anything up on it, though maybe paul has a bunch of notes somewhere...

So by saying "i don't have anything in the faq about it all"; does that mean you are doing a FAQ??? and since its like 5 in the mornin, and I looked to your first post and saw that you WERE doing one (my grasp of the obvious is absolutely amazing... ) maybe I could try to do some trial and error (and error, and error) and advice on these two complex events (GLPL and Logic Block) to give the FAQ.

I'm willing to take on these as long as you understand I'm still "down" until I get the laptop fixed... and as I might have to take it to a "professional" to clean it up (my underage nephew and his obsession with pop up ads and adult pix )
which btw will take only like 10-15 minutes if I could just DO IT MYSELF!!!! but will take some guy who gets paid (by me) $50.00 an hour and take 2-3 hours...

anyways, I want to help out is the point I was getting to. And I'll try to get an understanding of GLPL and Logic Block after I get back up. Sound good 2 U, manikus???

hi silent thief,
if you go to my website, on the left hand side near the bottom of the menu is a link to version 1.0 of the f.a.q. that's been up for a while, but is sadly lacking.
this one, will hopefully, be more usefull. i've got some graphics as examples, and am trying to do some more in-depth, step-by-step answers.
i'm excited that you want to work on these. like i mentioned earlier, i don't have a clue about them, or really any inclination to get a clue.
my personal timeline, and this is by no means set in stone, is to have the new version up by the new year, and if it's not complete, to put up what i have. (i'm trying to do it in a format that allows for easy addition, and for links to second-level pages that only require to drop a couple of links into the main document.)
