Cocoaspud,

Just a thought - maybe a bug but I'm not sure, it may have been intentional.

Money types are not automatically converted. For example if you pick up 500 cents over the course of your journeys, it is shown as 500 cents, not 5 dollars. Perhaps it would be good to allow an optional "convert money automatically"?

Also, it seems that the SHARE option is not available in the give treasure event when money is given. However, if you TAKE the money, then POOL it, SHARE is available and appears to work correctly. I've only tested this using the Superspud character alone, in "test from current position" mode.

Auto Fund Convert:

Way back, DC did automatically convert funds as they were added to inventory. 1000 copper became 1 platinum. I got dinged on this because some designers wanted to force the party to make choices concerning encumbrance. Is it worth it to carry 1000cp, maybe not.

I prefer to do things the UA way by default. Is this how UA did it? I could provide an option for the designer to allow auto-conversion.

GiveTreasure:

I think it works like I wanted it to, but that's not always the way it is supposed to work (the UA way).

Currently, the share option only shows up if the party has pooled funds they already possess. For GiveTreasure with money, the party gets the Take option, then the active player takes some or all of the money which puts it into the active player's inventory. There is no current procedure for automatically sharing the total funds being given by GiveTreasure before someone has Taken it.

Is this different than how UA does it?

That is different from UA and all other gold box games. They allowed you to select share whenever there was money available. It would divide that money evenly among the characters. It is much quicker and more convenient, I find, than having to take the money for one player (then pool it, then share it, if that's what you wanted to do).

Sorry, I'm unable to post to the Yahoo forum because of a problem with cookies. I can read the messages there but if I want to say something I'll have to post it here. If there is a mailing list I can't join but if possible could I be added? It's steve_mcdee@hotmail.com

ua converts, but not when you pick up treasure. any time you use an event, i.e. shop, temple, vault; where money has been pooled, when you pick it back up it has been converted.

That sounds like a good way of doing it, too. Perhaps you could have three options: auto convert, convert when pooled at shops, and don't convert.

My post above refered to the second part of what Richard said, about give treasure, in case there was any confusion.

Ok, I'll fix things so that whenever the party is given money the 'SHARE' option will be visible and will auto distribute the funds.

Also, I'll update DC to convert party funds when they are pooled in those three events. After looking at the souce code, I think those are the only three events where 'POOL' is available, except for the GiveTreasure event. I'll toss in an option to disable the fund conversion, but default to performing the conversion automatically since that is how UA did it.
