Richard,
Thanks heaps for answering so many of the questions, bug reports and feature requests. Here are a couple more you may or may not know about (may even be deliberate): 1. Paladin Lay on Hands doesn't seem to work. Will we ultimately be able to make up our own "usable" extra race/class abilities like this (plus, in combat - so that we can have kender taunting, play dragon NPCs who can breathe, etc.)? 2. Can the traits/abilities etc. be viewed? It would be cool to have an extra screen, accessible from the character VIEW screen, that showed the rest of the characters' stats (such as height, weight, birthday (maybe not), and skills learnt/developed (eg pick locks =150 or whatever). 3. Distant backdrops make wall placements much less fiddly, but where the distant backdrop is not directly in front of the party, it doesn't display properly. I know that show backdrops in bands can be used but this doesn't look right a lot of the time. I'll try an illustration: .......Fence...... .........|Y....... .Land....|..Water. ........X|........ Sorry - the illustration doesn't work that well When the party is in cell X, facing North, they see the land backdrop. When distant backdrops is turned on, they stil see the land backdrop in cell Y. But this looks silly as it should be water. Of course, when they look out over the water it looks perfect. Thanks again. Keep up the good work. 1. Lay On Hands isn't activated, but it shouldn't be hard to make it work.
It's easy to allow custom abilities in the race/class/trait config files, but it isn't easy to allow custom abilities to be used in the game. Basically, the game code needs to know under what circumstances the custom ability is valid, available to the player, and how to use it to make decisions that change the outcome of a situation. 2. Currently, these traits are defined in traits.txt and are shared by all new characters. Although each new character gets a private copy of the traits that could be edited, we don't have a screen available for editing them yet. 3. If you have the time, create a new design and demonstrate this problem for me. Send me the LVL file, all DAT files, and the custom wall slot art your using for this.
