Anybody watch this? I thought it was really good. Nothing incredible, but considering how funny the show has been, it's tough to make something that really stands out.

yeah i watched this too, i dunno about this final episode, it didnt really "close up" anything it just seemed like any other episode left too many things open, i wish maybe they could have done something to make it seem like "wow its really ending here" and they probably should have done a 1 hour episode instead of 30 minutes, they spent the whole first hour just talking which is cool, but i dunno it feels like they left too many loose strings for it to be really over.

SE: It did seem more like "just any other episode" than some series finale.

That is because Ray said that in the past that special episodes that lasted longer than 30 minutes never worked well with the audience, so they did not want to make this any more special than a regular show. I cannot remember where I got that quote from, but they never intended to make the finale anything more than what we got.

does anyone know why they decided to end that show? I cant see why they would want to, it seems like there could have been so much that could have been done now that the kids have grown up and stuff. did they just get tired of doing the show or something?

*shudders* I remember a time when everyday at school, me and my friends used to talk about how funny everybody loves raymond was, and it really was funny, but then Channel ten starten replaying them over and over and over, sure it was great to see them again, maybe even three times, but they played the episodes so many times it didn't just loose its humor, it made me hate the show, everytime I watch it now I just get mad.
But it's now that I realise just how un-funny the show really is, I mean, the main laugh's come from when Robert does his shudder or says "raymond, raymond, raymond" or something like that, when When Marie(sp?) makes fun of Debra's cooking/housekeeping/mothering or when Frank (who was the main funny character in the first couple of series) makes a joke about his pants or makes fun of Marie. And I just got sick of the same old jokes, then again, other people still like it so there must be something im missing. |

I thought a few of the episodes were okay... but, trust me, everybody does NOT love Raymond.
But, his mom is certainly my mom in 15 years. |

oh well it sucks that there wont be any new episodes for me i was just starting to get into it, the best thing about that show was when Frank makes fun of Marie hehe cuz Raymond was annoying most of the time. oh well at least they playing old episodes, but they play like one hour and a half worth of episodes a day, so hopefully i wont get tired of it fast.
