"IGN FilmForce has learned that the live-action feature film version of The Transformers will indeed be a DreamWorks project, which confirms rumors that appeared online earlier this week. DreamWorks Pictures has inked a deal with toy king Hasbro to make The Transformers; Paramount Pictures will handle the foreign rights. Also confirming earlier Web buzz, DreamWorks honcho Steven Spielberg did indeed use his personal relationship with Hasbro founder Alan Hassenfeld to bring The Transformers over to DreamWorks." Read the link for more info, for the producers and stuff. I can't wait till....2006... *stares at dustball rolling by* Hell, I can wait! [ 08-10-2004, 09:11 AM: Message edited by: Sigmar ] |

Steven Spielberg?
If it was any other director but him, I would have been very cynical about this movie. Woah. But, he's not going to be the director for it, is he? |

Tom DeSanto is producing The Transformers along with Don Murphy Frank Welker and Peter Culling are returning to supply the voices for their respective characters (Prime, Megatron, Ironhide, Soundwave, Rumble/Frenzy, et al) Studio confirmed. Its set in the Generation 1 US comic continuity. The rest is speculation. Speilberg did say he wanted to be directly involved with the movie, but he didn't say to what extent. Ilander obviously I love everything "transformers related" and I therefore agree with you Thanks for the welcome back! |

Ah... Generation 1... the only real Transformers. Awesome. Optimus Prime is an awesome character. Here's hoping they get it right.
