<font color='white'> Whats the big deal about this movie? It was good, but it was suppousedly going to scare the crap outta me. It didnt. They was some weird parts, like when..Well I wont give anything away.

For me, this didnt live up to its 'Scariest Movie of The Year' reputation. Once again I am let down by a horror movie.

I think I am going to have to watch The Exorsisct (sp) if I want somthing really scary.

The last movie that spooked me at all was The Mothman Propheinces.

Oh yeah, has anyone here watched both versions (American and Japanese) of the movie? Whats the diffrence? </font>

hi

well i haven't seen the ring 1 in any version, though my boyfriend had (he thought it was scary, mainly afterwards when you're left in a room with a tv)

so i got out the ring 2, japanese version.
watched 1hr.
so boring.
and apparently very like the ring 1, almost the same. lots of similiar things.

maybe its just that it was in japanese and subtitles unscare it, but didn't reckon it was very good at all.

<font color=skyblue>I was home alone, at 12:30am and had not seen a scary movie in like four years! I was scared shitless! I had to sleep with a light on, and didn't wanna even close my eyes!

Movie plot spoiler ahead...Do not read if you have not seen the movie...

Although I didn't do it...I wondered to myself if I should make a copy like the movie suggested! I find that very odd that the only way to survive was to make a coy of the movie. Would that not promote piracy from very frightened youngsters???</font>

Heh.. try checking that movie in an almost empty cinema. Trust me, watching that movie all alone in the dark is bound to creep you out

<font color='white'> Heh, yeah, good point Dreamer128, I watched it with my family, and we tend to poke fun at everything in movies, scary or not. That might have had something to do with it. I did watch it the dark though </font>

I was watching it at a friends house and all i could think of (from about 1/2way through the movie to the end) was that it would make an awesome Wraith game (or maybe Hunter with a story focussing on the Ghost empowering the video)

(both are White Wolf games, although Wraith is IIRC out of print)

I enjoyed it - although for a moment there I thought it was going to have the worst most cliched ending EVER, but then there was like an extra 30 mins! You guys know which part I mean, right?

Good, good movie. I liked the way that the scariness was not brought on by simple Monsters or anything. It was very atmosphere driven, and in a way that made it as good as it was. The whole monster things just isn't scary anymore.

I also liked the child in it, very reminiscent of the boy from The Sixth Sense. Children always add a certain realism and creepiness to horror films, especially if they 'know something'.

I found two errors with the movie though. (I love finding these things!) One can be easily explained, the other, not so much.

First, when the kids were at the Mountain resort, there were four, right? Then who took all the pictures of them? Don't say they had a camera that took pics itself, because many of the pictures were not posed for, they seemed as if someone had snuck up behind them and taken it. There were four people in most of the photos.

Also, when she was searching the Internet for information, the address bar said something like "C:\Windows\Desktop\searchpage.html" or somesuch. I thought this was pretty funny, as it would have been easy to edit that out.

Well, that's all from me at the moment! Peace.
