Man what a wicked run of kickin it movies he had for awhile there.

The Thing.
-One of the scariest, creepiest, knock you down pick you up and blow you away sci-fi movies. I know it was a remake.. but this version is the one to see imo. (yes i've seen both)

Escape From New York
-C'mon Snake Plisken is the toughest of them all.

Big Trouble In Little China
-My personal fave. What a wicked movie with some of the best one liners ever.
The rig 'Porkchop Express' with the sillouette of the woman on the front and it says: 'Haulin Ass'
ahahah.... Jack Burton.. hahaha... i laugh just thinkin about it..

Hmm all of those movies have Kurt Russel in em...

What are some other good ones he's done?

Oh yeah They Live! was a definite B grade movie.. but it was a pretty wicked story, the first time i saw it i was rocked by what was going on in it..

Halloween..
-period.

I thought that Vampire$ was much better than the movie (both written by JC) essentially the same story, but one goes longer, and doesn't involve some holy relic that can make vamp's immune to sunlight, actually aside from character names the only real point of continuity was the opening sequence...

No one mentioned "In the Mouth of Madness", which I thought was a very interesting movie.

Gotta agree, he's a great film writer, but I really wish he would stop composing his own music it's awful.

Nearly all of them, if you watch the opening credits to any of his films you will nearly always see "Music composed by John Carpenter" Pop up.
