Just finished watching The Deer Hunter from 1978 with Robert De Niro and Christopher Walken amongst others. I thought it was a very good film, if not all that entertaining. In fact, I found it to be a rather depressing 3 hours of my life. Some of the scenes are just so intense and the outcome of them is hardly ever what you expect, let alone what you wish for.

Anyway, has anyone else seen it? I give it 9 out of 10 for creating a believable, intense, dramatic and utterly depressing (ie effective) film that makes you think. Brilliant acting too. Not for the faint hearted.

Ohh yeah the movie is kind of depressing, but it was a really good flick. I mean with christopher walken and bob deniro how can you go wrong?
