When you read LOTR the first time, which book was the one that had you going all the time?
Was it the first where the story begins, and they get thrown into an adventure they know nothing about? Or perhaps the second, where they travel to meet the destiny, and to survive to fulfill the great tale? Or is it the third where they actually do it? Opinions people! BTW, I thought the second was the most interesting.. [ 03-04-2002: Message edited by: Sir ReGiN ]</p>

Hmm I would say that book two were the most interesting, though I have yet to try the english version cause I´m not that impressed with thte books. It may have to be due to the translation and the fact that it has been nearly exactly 18 years since my first time reading it. Finding new fantasy blooming up LOTR have drasticly fallen from my top ten so well.. I´m no LOTR fanatic to say, still good but far from the best ones IMHO.

I really loved the middle to last part (Bree onwards) of the first book. The worst bit (relatively) is when Sam and Frodo are in the Hills where Golum catches up with them.
Over all, the best book is the first.
