"But King, 54, who survived a near-fatal car crash, says he will complete the four novels and TV mini-series already in the pipeline.
And he thinks he still isn't recycling ideas... talking about living in illusion... How many books has he written were there is "some evil force from outer space" taking over the characters...? Lets see: Tommyknocker Desperation The Regulators Dreamcatchers ... |

I think that's a shame in a way. With any luck he will rest for a while, then have some flash of inspiration and write some invigorating new things! I agree his work lately has been a bit stale.

They all come to their end sometime. I like Steven King. Some of his stuff is not so good, but that's to be expected from any author. Even if he never writes another thing a lot of what he's already done will continue to live over and over for a long time.
Plus, there's always someone new coming up with good ideas.

I doubt he will totatlly retire. He'll probably just slow down. The guy cranks out what 3, 4 books a year.

Killjoy is on the money on this one.
At this point, I don't think that King knows how not to be writing something, so I can't get worked up about it. Barring another encounter with a car, that is... [ 02-01-2002: Message edited by: Solomon ]</p>
