Hello.

This poll I thought I would try here instead of the User Created...
...Anyways...I was wondering what famous characters you would:

Like to fall in love with? -me = I'd like to fall in love with Mariko from
Shogun.

Like to go to war wtih? -me = Conan. You would win.
Like to have as an enemy? -me= Kurtz.

Like to have as another enemy? -me = the Devil.
Like to thank? =me = I would like to thank Redlance from Elfquest. And Clearbrook. They are...ah...ah.

Artreimis entreri (think I spelled it wrong) as an enemy, but what a cool enemy.

As a friend Fitz Chivalry from The farseer books he is the best charecter ever.

Captain Vimes From Discworld and Manny Calevera from Grimfandango with Glottis would be fun to know.

To war with (as enemy) - I think Lioness got it right in picking someone pretty thick and dim as an enemy, but if there was someone I hated to see come out on top, and would oppose at every opportunity it would be Prince Regal of the Six Duchies

And most like to thank - why not Gollum, for saving the world (what has it got in it's pocketses the nastty squeeker, it's my precious I tell you, miiiiiiiiiiinnnnnneeeeee.

To fall in love with Medrian from A Blackbird in Silver, she needs help, her depresion whilst helping to find The Wyrm (a monster of world threatening proportions) seems to indicate to me that she is a human part of the creature that longs for it's own demise, her seeming lack of a will to live gave me this idea. I know that I'm a bit soft on looking after people but I think that she really needs it (BTW, does anyone know where I can get the second book (A Blackbird in Midnight)? I've been after it for four years now).

To aid me in war would be Druss, the Legend. A reliable fighter who is always good at rallying friends and wining fights without a blow being struck, intimidation is always useful as is reputation.

To have as an enemy would probably be Steerpike from the Gormenghast trilogy (if I wanted a truly formidable enemy)or Imacolata and Shadwell from Weaveworld.

As another enemy is starting to tax my imagination, what was the name of that female dragon from The Brothers Lionheart? Or maybe Smaug for that matter, Nero's mother from an old paperback about gladiators (can't remember the title off hand, something like Atilus, the slave).

To thanks (do authors count?)John R R Tolkien, Stephen Lawhead, David Gemmel, Tasselhoff Burfoot from Dragon Lance (first nine books only, they sort of went down hill after that), all of the characters from Tiget, Tiger (by Ivan Bester), Thraxas from Thraxas, Gimli so of Glowen (probably got that spelling wrong), Druss from the Drenai books, Quintain from Stephen Lawheads Dragon King trilogy, Aldric from Peter Morwood's horse lord trilogy, Gemmel Errekren the Sorceror from the same trilogy (do you reckon that name was a pun or serious homage?) and finally all of the rest that I didn't really want to leave out but decided to save on space.

The Grolims from the Belgariad/Mallorean series' by David Eddings! Boy did I hate them.

Well, since enemies are generally a bad thing and something I like to avoid I'm going to have to go with the Highbulp on this one. Relatively harmless and can provide entertainment whilst I slaughter his army =P
