I just finnished reading it and I must say it is by far the best set of books I have ever read. I loved the way Robin Hobb writes. I found it so hard to put it down and when I did I couldn't help but think about what was going to happen next. It had a little bit of everything, love, strife, betrayal, greed and magic. I think any one with the time to read three big books, they should read these. I give this book a ten, I don't think it could have been much better. Has any one else read them??

Yup, fantastic, I fully endorse your comments - even better on the re-read, because I always miss a little the first time on my eagerness for a new story. I am saving the first book of his other series for the 80 odd hours I will spend on a plane over the next couple of weeks.

"80 odd hours" I thought 80 was even hahaha...but realy I hope it helps pass the time away. I myself have just bought The liveship traders, I hope it's just as good. And I don't think it matters but Robin Hobb is female right?

Hey Drake, your right, Eighty is even, and LOL, Robin is a she (wow, red with embarrasment for not knowing that). Have to admit I never gave it a thought at all up until now, because the well told story is the thing for me.

I went back to all the Farseer novels, searched very carefully, and none of the covers or credits gave me any clue on gender (either in acknowledgments, credits, or publisher's dust jacket piece on author). It is only the hitherto unread Liveship book that credits "SHE" as being also the author of the Farseer trilogy. That Robin is female is completely hidden as far as I can see if I was just reading the Farseer books. Anyway, good on her, she writes a bloody good story, and I'm a fan.

I hope all these good things said about Robin Hobb will inspire some people to read her books. I hate to think only two people have had the experience of reading such good books. so come on people if you have read some books by her reply telling what you thought or if not then maybe you should. you wouldn't regret it, I promise knites honor

Are they forgotten realms? They must be pretty impressive regardless.

Yes !!! She is definitely one of the best !!!

Try her site http://www.robinhobbonline.com/robin/index.html

She wrote before under 3 or 4 (I don't remember - sorry) pseudonyms, and never hit the top - her carreer really went up with her last 'Robin Hobb' pseudo and the 'Assassin' trilogy - read them, Drake, they are very very good, very dense and kind of gloomy, but the end is a pure jewel ... totally unseen in any other book I have read.

Milamber, no they arent Forgotten Realms. I my opinion they are better than any realms book ever put out. Go to the bookstore and and get Assassins Apprentice right away! If you dont like it I'll personally refund your money!
