Hi all, I found Moric last night so I decided to explore some of the area with secret doors on level two. I started at the door in the Lizardmen cave. I made it through alright and when I went back Moric did not join me. I spent probably 20 minutes trying varying things to get him to follow. I was hasted so I took everything off, I tried getting him to follow me around the room and then through the door, I tried ordering him to "follow", I kicked him off my team (if you can call 2 a team. lol) and then had him rejoin. Nothing worked. Is this a bug? Am I doing something wrong? He followed me through just fine...he just won't follow me out. :~(

Those Who Know More Than I will be able to give you a clearer answer. But I have noticed that henchmen don't seem to be able to do through same-level transitions. If they make it into a secret area, they can't make it back out and vice versa.

Nope, they get in, but can't get out again when you move on in the same level.

The only work around I've found is that you detach them from the party before you go through the door, then re-attach when you come back out. Bit of a pain but, as long as nobody else picks them up en route, you'll be okay.

Yep! That's about it, really. I've had some be picked up and taken away while in secret rooms and such and lost a few when I got to other levels and my game crashed.. so good luck!

Yeah its a problem with the engine that is causeing this to happen. Only happens with secret doors. Also happens with familiars and pets as well.

It also happens on level 6 (?? -- it's the one with the two dragons) if you take the stairs under the Main Corridor route. Neither hench nor pet follow through that transition and it's not a secret door.

That would be Level Five. I believe there are community-designed scripts which have made up for this rather strange (but completely universal to NeverWinter Nights) coding deficit. I forgot which thread it was in, but links to potential solutions were posted to it. The only thing is this is a server-side issue. Therefore Ziroc would have to figure out if the coding would neatly fit in and not shatter anything else in previous operation.

It can happen at any transition that doesn't change the area you are in. Teleporting from one spot to another on the same level, whether through a door, or a portal. I don't recall if there was an issue with that in any of the OC's, but the NPC's always gave you an item, and they followed the item. I'm sure that seems absolutely primitive now, but it would be effective, I believe.
