Is thief into cleric a valid dual-class? (assuming human with 18 DEX 18 WIS)...
and why as a multiclass only gnomes seem to be able to take it? Did the designers mean it that way?

also what happens to the non-blut weapons I get proficiency in? are they just lost when I dual-class?

also what about quick buttons.... manual it says its quick weapon, find traps, thieving, stealth, cast spell.... so it means he cant turn undead?

And if it makes any difference am using TotSC.
Also finished game twice before so dont mind spoilers should the need arise.

thief into cleric works fine

multiclass is just gnomes (and half-orcs in BG2:Soa)

you won't be able to use edged weapons ever again once you've dualed to cleric - put points in staff and club for the thief levels and mace/flail/hammer for the cleric levels - you'll probably have to 'waste' a * by picking sling for both periods

you've spotted the downside with the buttons - you can still turn undead - the way its done is that some of the thief skill buttons are put 'behind' the special abilites 'star' button at the far right-hand side - its a bit annoying

have fun
