I just came from there, using my level 12 monk, and he has armor that is limited to levels 9-12. Is a monk really that strong, or is the first two levels just really easy for everybody else?

Now, I admit, I was turned to stone, and I almost never thought I would be able to hit a duerger...those freaking little thugs...but it all seemed a bit too easy still. They almost never hit me hard enough to need healing, and my fists of fury was doing damage in the 20s to alot of lesser creatures. Those with heavy armor were getting between 5-10.

What is your input?

My level 15 bard/sorceress got totally surrounded and killed, along with her summoned fodder and familiar, at least 3 times today on level ONE, so I dunno, Larry, I'm not about to say it's TOO easy! LOL Of course with a party of people it's a little easier to get through.

I made it through to level 6 with my level 1 mage/6 fighter/6 Arcane Archer, I had to keep moving and not get into to much close up melay fighting with more than 4 at a time but I did ok.

Individual enemies are generally easy but there's alot of them. My lv. 12 Druid have died many times by being surrounded by 10-15 enemies.

A lv. 12 Monk should have 3 attacks per round doing 1d12 of damage plus strenght modifiers and/or bonus from whatever weapon your're using. Power Attack gives you +5 to damage rolls if you're using that. Hitting for 20+ on those levels sounds like a critical hit or you have a high strengt and/or a pair of very good gloves.
