I was just wondering what the scope was going to be on this Undermountain Project. Obviously you've mentioned the 50+ levels and all that, but are you planning on fleshing out Waterdeep as well? Is there going to be an overall theme to these 50+ levels like a giant "dungeon-crawl," or are you planning on having several different people write modules that encompass a level or two, each with its own self-contained quests that will be linked together to form an overall "Undermountain" campaign? That way you can inform each eager module-builder what level or levels he/she can contribute to, give them an estimated party level, and let them go nuts.
I'm only asking because when I heard/read/saw what NWN is capable of so far, the first thing that popped into my pointy little head was "Hey, now I can do an electronic version of that huge Waterdeep/Undermountain campaign I've always wanted to do!" But instead of starting from scratch, why not join forces with other (more) creative minds, and contribute what I can to their efforts? I own the Forgotten Realms Campaign boxed set, the City of Splendors boxed set, the Waterdeep and the North sourcebook, Volo's Guide to Waterdeep, The Ruins of Undermountain boxed set, and The Ruins of Undermountain II boxed set. I have a wealth of information on Waterdeep and Undermountain, a desire to see Waterdeep/Undermountain on the computer in a way that does it justice (anyone remember Descent to Undermountain?), and 10 years of experience as a Dungeons & Dragons player and Dungeon Master. Consider this a request to join your efforts.
I decided to post this message instead of emailing you because of my questions above. Other inquiring minds might want to know what you're planning on doing with this mega-campaign. I don't have much experience in the areas of creating new graphics or computer programming, but any game that I've ever owned that's shipped with an editor, I've probably spent more time creating new levels than playing the actual game. NWN sounds like a CRPG and Dungeon Master's dream come true. I can't wait to get my sweaty mitts on it. If I can contribute in any way, let me know.
