I've been here before and i don't recall any serious trouble finishing this dungeon, but this time i'm at the end of my wits. I've already collected a few souls at the spot where they are supposed to go, but now i'm facing an Iron Golem that just won't die. I've used pretty much all my available spells, while my partymembers try to hack him up, but nothing seems to work.
So spoil me, or better....refresh my memory...i've killed that golem before, but i seem to have lost that tiny bit of info somewhere along my second or third sixpack, how do i bring that mother down ?

Btw.... i think it's spelled Gem Mines, but at this point of my mental state, anything is possible. I still need some help though.

At any rate, an iron golem is an iron golem is an iron golem. Try using Adamantine weapons on him, or +3 or better weapons. Adamantine weapons bypass the golem's natural damage resistance. I'm not sure if he aslo has resistant to slashing / piercing attacks as well - so try blunt weapons. He went down easy for me. In fact, I expected a tougher battle from him. Stupid goblin shamans gave me more trouble than he did. lol

Got it, thanks. Is there a map of the exact locations of the 6 spirits you need to collect, or do they come randomly ?

BTW, I just played the iron golem again. I took the first one down with a +2 long sword with 1d6 acid, a +4 warhammer, a +3 short sword with 1d6 cold and a +3 rapier along with several melf's acid arrows. NONE of the party had stoneskin on them or barkskin or anything at all - except for ONE suit of +5 plate and a bunch of +2 armors, and +1 shields. The second one crumbled even faster with the same weapons and a single Isaacs Greater missile storm. Dragons are MUCH tougher. lol [ 01-03-2007, 08:39 PM: Message edited by: Micah Foehammer ]
