hey, i was wondering where you all heard of the game, and what yoru first character was.

i got a demo of the game with my new computer. i told my friend about it and he got the game or rather Totsc. I soon got it too. thats how i got the game.

my first character on the game was a fighter, he because pretty strong becaues i wondered around fighting random things, because i did not know what to do in the game. he was blue skinned(?) and was cool.

i got to underdark in BG2, and just quit, unlike me yes, but being constantly underground and encumbered by quest got annoying

yes, quests are fun, but theres to many, and by the time you finish one, you fail the other, its really annoying
underground is a big negitive for me

that I think is one of the main reasons some people like bg1 better than bg2, the freedom.

I heard about BG: Dark Alliance on Tech TV, and how it was (I now know loosely) based on the pc game Baldur's Gate, which was based, in turn, on D&D...I like D&D, so it seemed logical, since no one ever plays around me...I subsequently hooked my friends, and I'm still spreading this game, because it's simply awesome!

and its alright, some restrictions, like not being able to creat your own character, and only you, but its still a pretty boss game for ps2

I played pen and paper (2nd edition) D&D with my older brother when I was very young, say between 7 and 10, and then over time forgot about it all. Six years later I saw BG I on a shelf at my local computer store, checked out the back of the box, and saw that it used all those same old rules. So I bought it and have been hooked ever since. My first character was a solo and very much clueless (and lost) fighter

This was a random game that I bought for my brother's birthday. Heh, we were completely lost in the character creation and gameplay, but somehow, we managed to find our way around.

I still remember that feeling of my character being lost in a big world and myself being lost in a big game.

One of my P&P AD&D friends recommended the game and lend me his discs, as he had been through the game several times.

My brother lives in Orlando and saw TotSC,told my wife, she got it for me as a gift. I installed it on an old secondary computer we had and realized immediately I needed more power. Got a new computer and started off to the Sword Coast. I tried a couple of different restarts with a different character each time. Settle on the Ranger and off in search of the baddies. I got very close to the end when I found IWD for nine bucks. Brought that home and I just got to the final battle. I'm hooked. Now I have to finish. Many more to go-- IWD2,BG2 shadows and throne,NWN,etc... I shall die happy. And my characters will die, over and over again. I still don't get the Bard thing, but I'm working on it. Druids are pretty cool and allow for alot of flexibilty.
