I have NWN and SoU, and I think I'm going to get HotU, simply because I want to play Escape from Undermountain.
I know the controls and how to play the game because I've completed NWN. I just want to know would it be better if I went back and played NWN, SoU and HotU?

You can if you want, and have the time, but with SoU you start back at level 1 and with HotU it starts you at a much hight level (can't remember off the top of my head)
I think I would start with SoU.

If you start HotU It will automatically start you at Level 15.
If you want to get an idea of what some of the new prestige classes do then play HotU but you can probably just jump straight into EfU. Anyone of us there will be more than happy to help you out.

If you want to play EfU or on a lot of fan-made modules you'll have to update your game using the Update feature and download the Community Expansion Pack, CEP for short. For any requirements for EfU that I missed, check that forum.

Also, HotU removes the XP cap, no mean thing.
