Ironworks-"Letters"???

Ironworks claims. they update ther letters section every week, yet I posted a question over 3 weeks ago and they have not replied to me, or anyone else for that matter. Does anyone know why? I have since been answered through this forum (thank you all!), so its not a big deal, but I am curious.

Kathen, I'm not sure if you know, but Ziroc has been spending a LOT of time getting the new board working, there are a few annoying bugs to iron out so he probably hasn't had time to update some areas of this board. Also, there's not much point updating this one if we're going to move to the UBB software soon (the sooner the better! This one's on the verge of crapping out for good i think.)

When in doubt, post! It will definitely increase your chances of a reply.

That's Memnoch, he's been using these servers so long he knows every facet of them. (I also think he's a super smarty)

Also, if ya hadn't noticed... people LIE! Errr well, I know they never mean to, you'll soon realize that websites that say they update their website daily actually only come in about once every two weeks. They never expect how busy they can get or how they just REALLY don't feel like working on the ol' website again... I'd feel the same way... I'ts kinda like the postal service, when it was originated, overnight delivery probably meant something.

Excuse my constant rambling... long story short, people tire of updating things, (BTW, Ziroc is easily one of the better ones) ya just need ta get used to delays when working online. A little patience training, idn't dat right Memnoch?

I see the lesson is sinking in, Armageddon. When in doubt, wait! There's nothing you can do anyway, right?

Kathen, there's a program called Infinity Explorer you can download from the Ironworks main site which allows you to extract GIF files from BG1, BG2 or IWD. You can then loop these graphics using a program like GIF Animator. Pretty easy stuff.

The new board is still going through some teething problems, Ziroc will advise everyone when it's ready. Till then keep posting here!

Thank you, like I said I got the answers I needed from here anyway, but it is nice to have options. You guys are great! I will keep posting here for sure, like you say you cant always depend on one person but you can a forum. Thanks for the tip on the graphics too. I'll try it.

As the guys said, I've been a busy sucker with the new board and server. I HAVE updated the Ironworks letters page to ask you to check the forums first and do a search, because as you found out, this forum has TONS of excellent posts about all aspects of the game. (20,000+)!! I'm suprised the search engine doesn't crap out.. uh NO! wait!!! nooo (crash) . . . . . (Dangit)!

I dunno if anyone knows this or not, but I run the ENTIRE site, that includes updates for BG1 site, BG2 site, Wizards & Warriors site (whew) Darkstone, and a few more and MORE to come! So I have a busy day hehe.. But sites like BG1 are pretty much 'done' unless someone makes a new editor or something to add to the download area.

I remember starting out the Ironworks site with just Baldurs Gate 1. -- it was EASY to maintain, it grew like a fire since. Then I started getting offers from people wanting to host me and stuff, but I just declined.. I knew that unless I had full control we'd be seeing 400 ads on every page. (I'm not a sell out!!)

I do need to update the letters area though. Most of the letters I get, I simply email them back with an answer.
