Someone give me a headsup on best figther multiclassing (i.e ranger/paladin/multiclassing or not etc.) and starting stats please.

I find the ranger to be most well-rounded, paladin the toughest (needs good fighter stats, plus good charisma), and the fighter to be a good "eh" choice. You can't really reroll for your stats over and over, as you are allotted a finite amount of "points" to spread over the different categories (such as strenth, dexterity, etc.). I'd dump as much as possible into strenth and then constitution as a fighter, with dexterity next, then wisdom (especially for rangers and/or paladins), and then charisma.
