Anybody have any advice for the dual class character Paladin/sorcerer??? Are they good for dual-classing???Or should i consider another pair like paladin/cleric??? I think i will start a new game and try out this class, i don't think i will need to wear armors since it will inhibit a spell casting failure, but i will back up with stoneskin or greater stoneskin before throwing myself into battle. Since paladins and sorcerers both rely on charisma, i think they will fit for each other pretty well. Only concern is that which lvl should i dual class them...

Does it have to nesicarilly be a paladin, personally I have no use for their abilities and they aren't as strong as fighters. I myself would try a rouge/mage or sorcerer.

Please let us know how it works out as I doubt that anyone here has ever made a Paladin/sorceror that I know of.

Rouge/Mage is what I prefer to play. You get a great Rouge this way because if you come across something you can not open you fall back to magic. Also you can bumb your stats with spells before you try and do something really difficult. If you get caught you go invisible. Lots of good combo's here. Also the rouge part helps the mage by letting him use a real weapon and backstab for tons of damage. Plus the dodge ability helps the mage in those tough fights with other mages that just stand there and take it.
My two cents. Granamere |

Paladin/sorcerers are tough to build, despite the fact that, at first glance, they look like a match made in heaven due to their CHA requirements.
As a paladin/sorcerer, you need to worry about 5 different abilities - ST, DEX, CON, WIS, and CHA. Usually the stat that suffers the most for a pure paladin would be dex - you can wear heavy armor anyway, so this bonus is effectively negated. However, a sorcerer/paladin really should not be wearing armor, at most some leather or hide, or a shield. As such, the dexterity becomes a big disadvantage. Also, you can't develop the important aspects enough - trying to concentrate on ST and CHA alone means that your 5 points acquired over the game will be split between these two most important stats. Just as a personal opinion, I never like to dual-class my spellcasters. I find that giving them levels in other classes usually does nothing except dilute their power, especially with the 3rd edition rules about arcane spells and armor. I think it would be a good idea to take 1 Pally level, the rest Sorcerer - get the Pally Cha bonuses and some extra HP right at the start.

Any multi class with a paladin or monk would be difficult. Once you gain another class you can no longer advance in thatb class 3rd ed rules.Paladins rock due to thier bonuses but for multi classing a fighter would be better. Clerics go well with most classes if you dont care about type of spells.

IT'S NOT TRUE!!!!!
A Paladin of Mystra can take levels in wizard w/o losing the ability to advance in Paladin. I don't think you can do this with sorcerer. One important thing about warrior/spellcasters in NWN is that you can assign different armour types to your quick slots at the bottom of the screen. Just drag and drop the armour into the desired slot. In this way, you can use light armour when at range to hurl your Magamemnard's Spell of Ultimate Death and then switch to Full Plate or whatever for melee (not quite realistic but it works...try it!!!!). The problem is, of course, you still don't have the help of your Utimate Plate of Many Deaths at range vs. missile weapons, but wizards have ways around such problems... Sorry if I misled/misinformed anybody, but the game does prevent you from changing suits of armour while in combat. I found, however, that if one can slip away for a moment out of sight of opponents, then you can quickly don your Full Plate of Ten Thousand Wailing Banshees and then wade back into the fray.
