Hey. My GF got BGI for the Mac recently, and we were going through, I don't seem to be able to find the Ring of Wizardry in the Friendly Arm Inn screen, even using the exact coordinates. Anyone else notice this problem?

I noticed the same thing in the game I running now on my PC after some research I learned that the ring is not there if you downloaded/installed the latest patch, which I did, neither will you be able to steal from Drizzt, which is a shame since he has kickass gear.

I think I have the latest patch and I still find the ring in the FAI, near the tree.
BUT if you canŽt find it, there is another in BG: in the south-western part (where you can find the Flaming Fist headquarters) in one of the houses on the south, the one painted in green, there is a mage that holds it. Of course youŽll have to fight... |

I, too, am playing the BG for Mac. I'm only as far as Gullykin--Firewine Bridge (in Ch. 3) and have not been to the Bandit Camp or city of BG yet, but I have a Ring of Wizardry. Alas, I can't tell you where I acquired it (I KNOW it was NOT near the tree in the Friendly Arms Inn area), and it's not in any of my "where stuff is" notes, so I must have killed someone for it.
Not extremely helpful, I know, but at least you know there is one for the finding of it. 8-/ |

Exact location of rings are on 2300 friendly arm X=2552 Y=3758 It sits atop a rock near a tree. And their is one S of Flaming Fist HQ 1100 at X=2678 Y=2435 I beleieve a wizard has it on him.

(I have the PC version, but this still might help).
I am also at a similar place. I haven't a ring of wizardry but Branwen is wearing a ring of Sune or something like that which basically does the same job but with priest spells. This one is in the chest at the bottom of Nashkel mines, or on Mulahey; whatever. Actually if I am thinking right and understand the ring of wizardry, it's hardly very unbalancing. I was still at first/first level (H/E F/M) when I got to the FAI, and could have done with some decent spellcasting powers. I think next time I go through I will do it with a H/E cleric/mage so I can cast some decent spells at first level; Tarnesh is the unbalancing act in the early game. Silke |
