Movie slowdown

Well, I thought I more than met the minimum specs, but have a slight problem. The actual gameplay is no problem. The game plays beautifully. It's just during the opening movie and narrated bits that I get slowdown. The opening movie is jerky, but acceptable, but the narrated bits (which shouldn't really be taxing my system) are a bit worse, and the narrator can only get out a word or two at a time.

Now, given that I am not the most computer-literate person in the world, how do I address this problem? What is the best way to fix it? Any ideas?

I have the same problem. So far that is the only problem I am having now that i dumped my voodoo card so I can live with it. I did download the patch they have out but have nto viewed the moive since then so I do not know if that helps at all.

I had a similar problem. the beggining movie would skip about once per line; however the actual game is also jerky. i was befuddled. NEVER before had my computer given me problems (Soldier of Fortune II on high settings worked great) but when i put it on the lowest resolution and quality NWN still doesnt flow smoothly. However i dont know the answer either...so i dont know why i posted...sorry.
