Hi there w&w! Welcome to the board!
Just to make sure before moving on... Please double-check that you've vdubbed the correct files, and that you have in fact put the new ones back in the correct directory (as opposed to accidentally putting the old ones back). I'm sure you did it right, but just check first, because that's the most obvious problem. You might also try vdubbing all 6 avi files, not just the 3 that are suggested. Let us know what happens!

Welcome to the board, w&w!!!
Follow Jon's advice and let us know if that helped. It can get a bit confusing when doing the virtualdub fix. I know other players have had trouble getting it right so try it again. If that doesn't work - try uninstalling and reinstalling the game. Tell us a bit about your computer too - that might help. Wyv |

vdub the files into another folder or on to your desktop and then open the new files and vdub them over the old ones

Welcome to the boards, W&W! May you soon be bringing truth and frontier justice to the Gael Serran.
Jon's given you a good response. The key thing is to make sure you put the right ones back. The resulting AVI files should be 32MB in size, whereas the originals are only a couple of MB in size. My own approach: 1. Rename the original files (townmsk1.avi, etc.) to an orig name (townmsk1-orig.avi). 2. Vdub the original file and save it as a new name (townmsk1-new.avi) 3. Copy the new files over the originals. If you need to put the originals back, copy the old files over the originals. This lets you switch back and forth very easily. If these ideas don't cover it, post back and give us more details about what you've done.
