Just got this game on budget release and everything seems fine with it except for the mouse movement. I have an optical mouse (which works fine), but in W&W it's like using a really dirty ball mouse. i.e. the pointer just stops or goes slow at random points on the screen meaning I have to move the mouse about 10cm before it starts moving properly again. It's so frustrating that there is no way I could play the game like that.
Is this a known problem or is it normal for this game? Full install, Athlon 2800+, 1Gb RAM, WinXP, 6800GT, MX500 mouse, DX 9.0c. I'll try the game in wine and see if that fixes it. [ 12-30-2004, 11:25 PM: Message edited by: Murmandamus ] |

Seems it was caused by the ps2 rate/frequency. I normally have it at 200 and had to lower it to 80 to get it working properly.

Welcome to the board, Murmandamus !!!
I'm also glad that you found a solution to your mouse problem. I use a trackball as I don't like normal mice! Keep us posted on how your game is going! Wyv |

Welcome to the boards, Murmandamus! May you find adventure in the Gael Serran to be to your liking...
Glad to hear that you were able to correct your mouse problem. We may need to add that one to tech tips, in case someone else runs into it. In fact, it's not there Wyv, can you add this into the section 6 post (by Willow)? It should go after section 6.10 and before the "Back to Index" link. 6.11) Mouse moves erratically. Problem: Some mice can move with too high a rate or frequency. Solution: Go to the Mouse Setup in Control Panel and set the rate down to 80. Exact location for specifying the rate may vary by mouse. Solution provided by: Murmandamus Also, please add this to the index post (again by Willow) after entry 6.10: 6.11 - Mouse moves erratically You can quote this for the details. Hmmm.... perhaps I should have PMd this. In any case, please make sure you agree with this posted resolution, Murmandamus. If I've left anything out, please let me know. Thanks!
