i picked up the wand of the serpent in the temple of the snake cultand used to acess the giant snakes head. however on the wand it says : protect poison 100% but when equip it it don st seem to change my resistances. what do i do with it? can it be invoked?

That is strange. It should still protect you, though.
There is a wizard guild quest in which one has to retrieve the orb of clarity from Harespia. If you have not yet killed Harespia to get it, you should walk over to her and say the word "orb" (you have to type the word into the vocabulary yourself). Hmmm... you might have to Use the wand on yourself. I've never noticed it doing much for me
 It's good that you've already completed this part of the serpent temple, BTW. Let me tell you it really stinks when you realize that you still need the wand, but you've traded it to Herespia...

Unlike the orb which only appears either when Harespia is killed or when she trades it for the serpent wand, the wand can always be pickpocketed from her. And of course she will also drop it when she dies.

I admit, until recently I would always murder Herespia on first sight & grab the orb off her corpse... good thing the treasure sucks, or I would've been mad
