bg sound file failure

I completed bg a year or two ago and a few weeks ago i decided i wanted to play agen. but when installing TotSC about 70% or so through instilation it said 'bg sound fx error' or something along those lines. i pressed ok and it kept going through instilation but then at the end it didnt work. I tried bg on its own without TotSC but that didnt work either for some reason. Im currently downloading the new patches so bg1 adds on to bg2 but for the time being im wondering if anyone has any suggestions as to how i will get it up and running. any suggetstions? Also bg is actually uninstalled but it thinks it isnt so i cant get the uninstall button. would it work if i browsed the cd and clcked on setup?

It could help thourgh even if you were to find were the sound files were i dont tink you would be able to fix them. Irember havig this problem while i was playing and when the message woud come up the game would crash but i installed to specific patches dealing with sound onblack isle and the game was all better again.

i did get bg to work but TotSC still doesnt work. its ok tho because i am downloading the things so that it goes onto the start of bg2
