Okay, so I completed BG2 multiple times already, but I felt a little guilty for not completing the whole saga in one go. Heck, I have not even completed BG1 yet.

To avoid succumbering to the inevitable temptation of BG2( too slow! Screen so small! No kits! NO SORCERERS! Etc...), I loaned my BG2 CDs to a friends and settled down to complete BG1.

A question and some thoughts.

Q: Answer Yes or No. Are there any regeneration items in the game besides the Potion of Regeneration?

A noble named Windspear in Beregost? Okay... a noble going to Neverwinter to meet Lord Ribald???? OKAAAAY... ...

Heh.

A: Not that I am aware about - but you could take a character to 20 in constitution (Dwarf + book of CON) and get regeneration.

Yes, they messed with names.

We had a conversation a few weeks ago whether a name (you'll know it when you get there - chapter 4) in BG1 is the name of BG2 NPC (it is very similar).
I think that consenzus was that it isn't.

BTW, I can't think of anything that regenerates.

Yep. Sadly, the only way to obtain Regeneration in BG1 is by having 20 CON (or 21), or the Potion. A pity, that. Do you have ToSC, Dundee?

You're going to find a lot of names that are either common to both games, or are very similar. Have some fun and keep a list!

Should we already start waiting an official solo mage´s spell list.. oh wait, dont tell us you're soloing your first game. Anyway, I don´t how you´ve managed to avoid BG1 so long.. ´tis a great adventure.

And yes, playing this through first made BG2 much more enjoyable npc wise, for me at least.

I am playing with the "future" BG2 party. Aka,

Me
Imoen
Jaheira
Khalid
Minsc
Dysomething( haven't rescued her yet)

No regeneration items eh? Sigh... I guess I am glad I chose to play a Cleric. And yes, I do have TotSC. Durlag's Tower is on my map, but from what I have heard of it, I will bypass it for a while. "Toughest" thing I fought so far is the Flesh Golem( in terms of XP value).

Enemy Mages are giving me grief, what with their Melf's Acid Arrows and such. I think I will fry when they start casting Lightning Bolt.

A few more questions,

1) How the frell does one make the Quickload function work? I already tried assigning various keys to it in the Configuration menu but none of them work.

2) Is there a shortcut key to rest?

3) Is it possible to enable maximum HP gain at level-up?

4) How do I enter the Gnoll Fortress? I explored 2 caves, went to the back of the hill, slaughtered every dang Gnoll, Xvart, Carrion Crawler I could find and still could not find the entrance. XY Co-ordinates will be welcomed.

The only way to get max HP on Level-ups is by Saving beforehand, Reloading, and trying again. And hey, good luck getting Jaheira to roll her maximum. She's great in BG2, but.....not here, baby.

You're already IN the Gnoll Fortress.....there is no "interior," sorry. The movie that plays when you entered the map area shows you pretty much the whole thing. Note: The Gnoll Stronghold has VERY poor visibility: There are 2 little areas on the roof that you simply cannot see until you're right next to them. Dynaheir is in a similar location: I can guarantee that you're already walked right past her about 3 or 4 times without seeing her. Get happy with that mouse cursor--if it says you can walk there, WALK THERE. Don't be satisfied by just looking.

Chapter 13 of my site may prove informative as well. It's not just for BG2, you know.

Ah... joy. The classic case of pixel-hunting. How quaint. What about Question 1 and 2?

The whitch is in the bottom of one of the pits in the Gnoll stronghold, send minsc down into each pit one at a time and you will find her at the bottom of one. You have to send minsk or you will look for weeks without him.
