where is drizzt?

i am quite desparate for challenges and quests to do in bg1 (mainly coz i've finally relaised i can't proceed with the story due to that disc scratch and wont be able to get a new copy for a week or two) and wanted to fight drizzt.

but where is he?
i heard he is near high hedge somewhere but what map, anyone know/have an idea at all?

i cant find him and really want to.

He is waiting for you 2 maps south of the High Hedge map (ie. S-SW of Beregost).

Do not expect a tough fight. You should rather expect getting a lesson of how to fight and after that getting your botty whacked [img]smile.gif[/img]

Some say he is unbeatable without cheating. I still haven't killed him - with or without cheating.

He's not unbeatable, but he does make mincemeat of your party pretty quickly unless you resort to cheesy tactics.

Run your party up to the other side of the small lake and put them on the wooden planks, then lure Drizzt into a fight with your toughest fighter character while the rest of your party waits at the lake.
Lure Drizzt all te way up to the side of the lake opposite to your party, then have them fire away at him with missile weapons while your fighter keeps running in little circles to avoid getting hit.
Cheesy though.

Or you can hire a temporary NPC to use as cannon fodder (give your best fighter a bow instead)

Or you could make the bait character imbibe a invisibility potion

When do you meet him?

I'm in the beginning of chapter 5 and can't remember fighting him.

You are not forced to fight him. First time you meet him, he will ask you to help him getting rid of some monsters (gnolls?). Eventhough you try to help him, he will mowe them down faster than you are able to draw your sword [img]smile.gif[/img] .

Afterwards he just hangs around in the area. If you steal his scimitar, he will leave afterwards. I do not know if he also will leave if you speak with him again.

BTW my party are now wearing Drizzt's scimitars and armour [img]smile.gif[/img]

Another tatic: Summon masses of monsters (hope you get lots of hobgoblins, they have bows to)
Yet another tatic-Have everyone leave your party, and tell them to stay here. Make all your members surround Drizzt, and then just fire arrows and Drizzt is stuck.

Oh, and Drizzt didn't leave when i pickpocketed him.

He left when I pick pocketed him in another game. Do you have the latest patch?

If Drizzt does not leave after you have stolen one of his scimitars, how many scimitars are there on his body if you kill him afterwards?

i went to the place south south of high hedge. it has a lake near the top with a guy fishing and an abandonned house.
is this the right place? coz i still cant find drizzt.

This is indeed the right area. Drizzt should be somewhere close to the center of this map (unless you have some sort of corrupted game or you already met him and he had left)
