I am in the midst of the Stout Mines. And it occured to me that I needed the writ to get in... Will I need one to get out also? The stout at the drawer kept mine.

It's in your characters' inventory. It will probably appear as a ?scroll? until you identify it. But it's there, unless your inventory was full, in which case it will be on the floor in front of the depository.
