AUUUUGGGGHHHHH!!!!!!!!

OK, As I posted last night, a friend (known on the board here as Bourbon) came over last night so we could update his machine. He just got a new uberbox, and wants to optimize his old one to use as an extra in LAN games, (for those who don't have a box). So, last night was a techfest here, eating dinner, watching LadyHawk and SouthPark, Bigger, Longer, & Uncut. It was nearly 3am when we shut down. Didn't make any progress in the game.

Today's been a lazy day. Cleaning up around here, mainly. As I was preparing to play, I was composing the next episode of The Chronicles of RudeDawg the Lonely. I already have it all planned, but I just wanted to finish the Serpent Temple. (Don't worry, I have done a lot besides that.)

I sit down to play. Oh, what fun. Chasing a monkey. Trial and error with doors and levers. Fighting many spiders and snakes. (It took awhile to figure out that I was supposed to use an empty flask to catch the egg-juice. Then, I see that the grate is called "flask-grate" DOH!) FINALLY, I find my way to the alter thing, and read my journal. It talks about the book. I read someone here writing about the library, so I do some more wandering. Find it. Use the statues. get the wand. get the book. (I grabbed the statues again. Do I need them? As a soloist, invetory space is at a premium.)

I decide to save before I perform the ceremony. The phone rings.

It's a friend asking me if the storm has hit over here. I leave my machine at the save screen, and step onto the balcony to look. It was just coming in. We talked as I watched the lightning.

Then the lights went out.

I was at the save screen. One button away from safety. TWO hours from my last save.

I'm an idiot. Procede with the insults and jeers.

Aw! I would not dare taunt you or jeer at you for such misfortune!

The next time you catch up though, you can leave the statues behind once you get the wand and read from the book.

Oh, and just so you'll know...we've ALL done that, RudeDawg! Whether it's Wizards & Warriors or something we've been working on for an hour in MS Word without saving!

ya know, I was saving religiously yesterday, and the day before, and so on...

I don't know what got into me tonight...

Oh well, I'm off to replay.

I'll post a good story tonight.

BTW, thanks for the advice about the Fletchery skill and Dragon arrows. They turn things to stone!!!

AND, at Bow skill level 8, I'm hitting things at a real distance!!! I got a .bmp of a swampfly with an arrow sticking out of her eye !!!

god only knows how many times i have done that same thing (minus the storm just plain stupidity )

wanna hear somthing even funnier, i was traveling and i when to town... i , thinking that the save butten was the same in the town accidently loaded the game back to my old save probably around 1 1/2 before.

The arrows are cool. I'm having a blast with them this time with my elven ranger, Tamerin. All I've got right now are the blue Takekatsu arrows, but they have Deathstrike ability and are good in their own right.

Dag Dawg!! That is terrible! It has been storming here for the past few days too. Some close strikes to our house and a couple of outages, lots of sirens.

Since you chased the monkeys already, please read Davros thread "Man that monkey can RUN". I just know you will enjoy it and may give you some inspiration even. Well, nevermind about the bad luck now, we will all still be waiting for your next adventure update. Who knows, things may happen a little differently this time and maybe even more advantageous!
