how to get into baldurs gate? Spoiler

I went to the bridge and the guy came out and talked to me about helping him inside the city, I agreed but how do I get into the city from there?

You must flood the Cloakwood Mine (Chapter Four) before actual entry to the city is possible. Otherwise, you can get on the bridge but not though the gate...

yaa I flooded it but I figured it out I had to rest befor it would let me in

heh yep have to rest for all chapters as that activates the next stage and also means you can get those dreams after which you get new powers.

its actually a bit fiddly to find the gate on that screen. i missed it the first time, took me ten minutes to figure it out. its to the left of that bloke (i forget his name but he's a cleric going into the city). is a very small gate, easy to miss until you've walked right up to it.

lots of people have had problems finding it, i never did, cos what i do when i enter a map is try all possible exits before i fully explore it, to see what other maps i can find.
