I have no idea how to do it but just wanted to mention this.At dragonspire I got pretty good at climbing to sides to cross over,A couple of times instead of stoping at the cave level I continued to the right. You have to jump alot and fart around moving this way and that but you can come out on the tops of the trees. This would not seem to be much but if you from that side come around to the backside of the spire the game thinks you are inside the erathsmadore cave kinda. So you will eventually end up with a scene with the chest floating in midair with the four torches floating around it.This was really neat looking at night with the full moon behind it.

I actually managed to get there a couple of times. At least somewhere close to there. What I saw from outside the mountain (or inside it) was the altar of the Mavin and the two chests next to it. At first I thought it was a completely new place that no one had been to before until I realized that this was the room that held the Mavin sword. Although I could not get close to the altar, it was kinda cool, so if I get there again, I will try to grab you a picture.

I took a picture last night of my uber horse carrying the six of us across the tiny bridge entering the case in the NW corner of Ishad N'ha. I'll have to e-mail it when I can get my darn home network working again.

But more on point, do you mean I can just climb up to the entrance to Dragonspire and my sorry behind has been looking all over for a back door?!

Well yes and no.You must go through it one time unless you don't want the mavin.Which can work but I don't mean to suggest as best. The doors to the goodies on top are locked from the inside.
As you face the spire, turn left follow the woodline eventually you will be at the back door(uper left side of map).Word of advice in advance you will need to do the stout mines(lower left side of map)so you get fire resistant armor from giving dragon ore (which you must find)to the king.If this makes climbing sound foolish it isn't because untill you can create portals and teleport(moon spells) it is a nice shortcut to brimloch moore.

By the by if the email dosn't work it is real easy to get this view.Just side climb the spire once at the cave level just continue to do this to the left, you will find yourself on top of the trees,by walking and jumping and working around to the right you will come to a vantage point viewing the mavin sword chest and torches floating midair
