By a strange mixture of miracles (see my "Help, lungs filling with water!" post below)I managed to find the aforementioned airhole. I would then rest in in until some beast of the deep would assail me at wich point I would begin my explorations of the city. If I saw a speeking NPC I would about turn and paddle for that glorious hole of dank and fetid air. By strange circumstances (you can talk underwater, even if not wearing an underwater helmet!) I made my way to the library where the only monsters I met (apart from those that followed me through the narrow passage) where seven or eight cage crabs! I then went and spoke to the oh so helpfull oracle (of the, "I know exactly what you have to do but I won't tell you, I'll just give you this scroll and then bugger off) variety) and discovered that Shevine Callisham (my Elven Warlock) had finally gained a level. Eagerly I advanced her skills (whilst under attack from two more Cage Crabs) and penned the Call of Home spell into her book. I then killed my first Cage Crab to refuse me a shell, all of the others had been most accomodating (their fault for starting on me). After a short trip to town I discovered that returning to my ship deck portal (then ship had later moved) sent me to the bottom of the sea. I swam to the surface to get kitted up and then the party began to explore Collosium proper (I had placed another portal in the library in order to save time). From my underwater experiences I have only one gripe and this is it. When I want to give a staff to the best mender and then return it, I have to take off the aqualung to equip it but can then replace the aparatus no problems. Is this because the shell was meant to be big and bulky and deny two handed weapons because if so then it's not doing a very good job. Also in my underwater travels I have discovered a true gem, a Wailing Staff. It's the first one that I've found that's better than a Witches Stick and isn't cursed!
