I'm thoroughly enjoying Wizards and Warriors (thanks to everyone's help) and I'm wondering if all you RPG experts know about some other first person RPGs. I already have Might and Magic 6, 7 & 8.

I enjoy the first person perspective far more than any other type of game, partially because my sight is limited and I don't have to deal with a tonne of little characters on the screen.

Also for this reason, I can't really play any games that require 'twiddle fingers' - I need some time to see what's going on, so I can react to it. The Might & Magic games were excellent that way, and Wizards & Warriors has been pretty good so far (with the notable exception of trying to kill TWO of those @#$%&!! Amazoni Mantraps from a distance).

Can anyone recommend any other first person RPGs that would be along these lines?

Thanks,

Catz

MM9 is supposedly coming out in August, although that may be pushed back...Wizardry 8 is scheduled for a July release, and look for TES Morrowind toward the end of the year...all 1st person games.

Currently, I don't know of any...there are some good older ones, though.

Unfortunately MM8 was blatantly unfinished (included the "Druids Crown" quest object that nobody wanted etc). I'd suggest Daggerfall (even if targetting spells is a nightmare) but Descent to Undermountain isn't worth looking at (the monsters hit a lot more often than they should). I'm looking forwards to all three of the releases that Sazerac mentioned above but haven't heard of any others.

Thief Gold, A definate awsome game.

Thief the Dark project came out but then they Added Thief Gold to give more of a story line to the Thief 2 the Metal age. I loved them both. They are great games

BOUND4DOOM,

Get ready since Thief III will be out by the end of the year! I too have Thief 1 and 2 and found them to be truly amazing. Ion Storm has acquired 90% of the Looking Glass team and this game will shine I'm sure. I also look forward to Deus Ex 2 which I have already pre-ordered from Chips and Bits. The first Deus Ex was BREATHTAKING. It truly was a WELL WRITTEN game thanks to Warren Spector. He is a mastermind just like DW Bradley. It's SO NICE to have all the original game writers still around isn't it? You can tell when a REAL programmer is at the helm of a great game. Let me know what you think.

I am truly looking forward to acquiring Thief III and Deus Ex 2. All the other games I don't care for. I like game that really make you think and not just hack n' slash. That bores me too fast. Hope to hear from ya!

Sincerely;
Druadic

There are some older first person RPG's like:

The Elder Scrolls: Arena
The Elder Scrolls: Daggerfall
Lands of Lore I + II + III

I also enjoyed MM8, because you can there play as a dragon (I love dragons)

Does anyone know old pearls like
Ultima Underworld I + II (love it despite there are no dragons )

Welcome Lexus,

Have you ever heard of a game from Interplay called Dragon Wars? It was one of my all-time favorite CRPGs!

And Catz...I don't think there is anything recent, but Stonekeep, also from Interplay was pretty good.

Mark

Hello to everyone,

I've never heard of such a game, how can I get it?
Stonekeep is also a great game. Does anyone know, if there are somewhere in the web some musicfiles from that game?

This forum is great, the best W&W-forum in the web!!!

Many greetings from Vermatrix Goldenhide...
