Ok, i have just bought the game and i am stuck already , its either i have missed something obvious or ??? .Well im in the crypt and i seem to have no where to go , i know what i have to do its just that i can not go anywhere . On the first level there is a angel statue and a door with no opening mechanism, i assume this is something to do with the statue, i have nothing that works it! so i went down the broken steps which u can not get up, spoken to the stout and hes told me about the crystal and keys, i can see them and the mechanisms which open the grates but can get to either of them. Can u give me a HINT please on which direction i should go , because AAAAAAAAAArrrrrrgghhh after 30 mins i gave up!

YOu are NOT an idiot!!!

Now that that is out of the way -

From near the stout get the bauble stick. Use the bauble stick to reach through the underwater grate and get the crystal.
Go back to the large room (off the broken stairs) and examine the door frame in the one direction that is currently closed (west?). You will find on the left hand side of the door FRAME a depression that matches the crystal. Use the crystal and it will activate a lift taking you to the mummy room. Complete that room and then - ride the TOP of the lift to the secret room above the mummy room!

That should get you moving!!

Ingulf, if you go to the online help in the W&W section at the start menu, you'll find a walkthrough for the first dungeon. It's very useful, because there are quite a few hard puzzles for so early in the game.
