WW is a great game, no question about that.
But there are a few things, which I consider a nuisance & I would like to hear, what others think about it. The relationship betweenn Kerah and Anephas is very confusing, Anephas "commands" her at times but shouldn't it rather be the other way round? The Samurai are relatively new to Gael Serran (as Torin says ...) but there are Samurai Spirit Warriors in an ancient (egyptian) tomb, plus the ambient asian music there - really anachronistic & anoyed me a lot (I love Kitaro & not only his silk-road music, but all in its place). The Assassin is a Pawn Shop quest (probably fitting better than to the BD because "assasins" are an arabic-persian invention), but there is nothing specific for the Assassin to buy in the Pawn Shop & the BD sells clothing for him/her. Why do Barbarians have lockpick ability, would better suit a Ranger (having to deal with traps ...) & why does the Ranger not get the Temple joining ability. Poor Rogues, there should be a joint armory/pawn shop in Valeia perhaps, else the Rogue char is useless. The AC per weight ratio for chain & plate as compared to samurai do is far to low - any decent medieval sword would hack a samurai do to shreds, while katanas would take some dents trying to pierce chain or plate. Damage for swords is similar, perhaps Katana/Wakizashi are overrated because they are reasonably modern (Samurais used Bow/Arrows until the 17th century, by that time swords had become more or less ornamental in Europe) but any decent Solingen knife would outperform a contemporary Wakizashi (they didn't make knives the size of Katanas) and a solid Toledo sword from the middle ages would hold it's own as compared to a No Dachi. Finally, why are most warrior style chars (including ninja/assassin) able to wear samurai gear, but the valkyrie is prevented from it - shouldn't she be considered a special type of warrior/barbarian? It might seem like some overreaction, but I do not like anachronisms or severe distortions in games - I rather prefer pure fantasy characters/items. Would like to hear your thoughts to it. |

Wow Pascha! Interesting observations on your part. . . the first thing I did after reading them was to check out your profile to get a little more insight to your intellect - no clues there - so all I can say is, I didn't really notice the discripencies until you mentioned them (LOL). You, my friend, will get along well in this forum; there are many wise folks here. Unfortunately, I am not one of the "most wise", but will be checking this thread to see who answers and what they say. I'm certain it will be enthralling. God speed to you and your party.
p.s. Thanks again for the great thread about making/saving money! |

Hey, you have some good points. But I too, didn't even notice any of them. I did notice a few things here and their, but didn't have a big impact on me. I just enjoyed the game. I don't think the game is supposed to really follow the line of history or be that realistic. If that was the case, half of the game wouldn't exists. Talking toads, walking skeletons, lizard men, cat people, pixies, the list goes on. But no matter what, this game still is probably the best single player rpg I've ever played!

Steve, as I mentioned, if all is fantasy I do not mind - but I have seen too much distortion of truth to not get annoyed with it (the media often try to convey secret messages in between the lines).
For me WW rates 4th after Might & Magic 6, 8 & 7 (in that order) - have you tried them? |

No. I was going to buy Might and Magic 7, but I wanted 8 and couldn't find it. So then I saw this and bought it. Although I have played Migh and Magic 4 on Super NES. Always a classic!
And of course I have the must have Heroes of Might and Magic. |
