Hey, I just caught up with that Sphynx (of course this is after I went in the shrine, figures right?), and he has his stupid question, but I don't want to know what the answer is. Do not give me the answer because I don't want to know it (making sure I was clear). What I do want to know is, how can I kill him? He makes my strongest character go insane, and most of my Warlock's spells don't hurt him (15/14 Wizard/Warlock). So do I put a patch over my eye and say "Walk the plank scurby, that was er last chance, ARR!"? It just annoys me how he hits every time and I don't, I want to lay, as they so formally call it, the Smackdown on this bird freak. Any hints?

this is not going to be much help if you are set on killing that poor furry little animal, but perhaps the less violent approach in this case is better? My party answered his questions and he disappeared with blessings and without a fight. I assumed you needed to answer his questions to gain access to the shrine, but that appears not to be so. Are there any consequences for killing him?

His voice also reminds me of DEEP THOUGHT, the ultimate computer designed by the mice!!(This was in the BBC production of Hitch Hikers guide to the galaxy.)

Contrary to the Oath Of The Mavin, there are no consequences for killing the good (?) NPCs in the game (Don't get me started on this subject). As far as the Sphynx is concerned, the riddle is more rewarding than the kill.

Though there may be consequences for killing an NPC before you get what you need from them.

Youse take youse chances, youse pays the price!

I had the Sphynx down to half strength...just used alot of powerful spells on him, it helps if you have multiple monks/priests...I only had one, so once he went insane, I couldnt "restore health"

OK, to start things out, I had him down to an ounce of life, and he killed my only playable character. The other two were insane and turned to stone. What are you talking about skywalker? The only reward, it seems, he gives you is entrance to the Shrine (which I already have).

Oh, nevermind I get you. How much experience does he give you if you get the riddle right?
