If after you get him to ask you to bring him the hide and he still does not take it, try pickpocketing items from him to make room in his inventory for it.

Hi eveybody.
just a quick question i have got the hide for the pirate from skull isle but he won't accept it when i try to give it him. WHY? Hope someone can help |

If u are refering to the guy west of Brimloch Roon. In the first place did he ask u to find him the hide? If not then maybe u have to click all the key words until he ask u to find him a hide in exchange for the treasure map thingy.
