I have gotten really far in the game. I just beat Skull castle. i was playing til 2 in the morning and saved. Today i loaded my game and it loads and then after 10 seconds freezes. I have shut down the computer, restarted it, load it again and again. It keeps freezing. Is this some kind of bug or something? Im right outside of a city and i dont understand why this keeps happening. HELP!

This is strange; I've never heard of people running into trouble in that phase of the game. You haven't by any chance updated any drivers in the mean time?
There are two things I can think of to try:
- restore a previous save and try if you can get beyond the crash point. (You do use more than one save slot I hope! That's essential, esp. if you run into problems.)
- try to put the game in video software mode before it crashes.
Good luck.

I think i face a similar problem, I realise when i was in town and click on many options too quickly, (which means the computer has many task to do in a short time) the game exit and right infront of me is my windows desktop. I suspect this is due to me installing DirectX 8 instead of Ver 7 from the game. And I'm running a AMD K6-2 450 192 mb sdram, Hope this helps...

Mist,

Is it only happening with the same save game, or any save? On the 2nd hints page from Ironworks I get the following :

I've had the game lock up twice during a save. The game won't reload after that, giving you an error message and locking the system up again. However, all is not lost! Go to the save game folder and delete the save files. The game will reload at that point and you can go to the inn and reset your party based on your last city visit. I can understand if that sounds like a bad idea, but I can't find any other fix.

If that sounds like your problem then it might be something worth trying. If you have saved just after leaving town then you are not going to lose any play by resetting. If you decide to try it, I would copy all the "save" folder files to a new folder as backup in case you find the results not to your liking, and that it wasn't such a bright thing to do after all.
