I'm having a terrible time trying to locate the writ that allows entrance to Stout Mines. After some initial searching I checked the Hints section on the Ironworks site. It indicated that the writ is in an outlet due east of the mines. I have been over this entire area very carefully - no writ, no Stout body, no nothing. Please help!

Is the writ supposed to be in one of the two outlets connected to the path to the Stout Mines?

Do you need to talk to someone in particular to trigger the appearance of the writ? I spoke with Erzbette (in the hut west of Ishad'Na) about it. Do I need to speak with the two stout brothers close to the Valeia?

Thanks.

There are 2 ways to get a writ.

1) Get it from the burned body north of the mines.

2) Bribe Pastolio with Boogre Brew.

The body is easy to miss, because it's the middle of an open area with a copse of trees.
Look at your map where the way to the sout mines begins, there is a U shaped patch of trees. It's in the U.

The dead body is in a corpse of trees?

Sorry, couldn't resist it!

Thanks for the help everyone. I was finally able to locate the Stout body. The clearing is due north of the Stout Mines, not due east as stated in the Hints section of Ironworks. If I had studied the map that came with the game more closely, I would have seen that I had missed a clearing in this area. I did look at the map but the initial misdirection threw me.
