im in the stronghold and i have no idea where to go-can someone please help!

I presume you wish to find Dynaheir? Just look around and explore every pit and stair-case - you'll find her. There are many possible forks to the paths here, but you'll find her in the main fortress in one of the pits.

You need to follow the stairs up through the entrance of the stronghold. Then go up the first set of stairs on your right and fight all of the gnolls. once through all the gnolls there is a very good mage who will join you if you talk to her. She is in the last pit.

AND I suggest you to explore the WHOLE map and ALL the caves in the south... |

I think you should always explore the whole sector and caves, cause there's where you'll find cool items andn quests.
