How long does it take the King to make the dragon armor? I waited a half hour before going to bed last night. Everytime I asked him he said "come back later" and changed position and kept on hammering.

You need to leave the room and come back. Maybe stroll donw the corridor a little ways. I dont' think it actually takes any time, but you can't just stand over him.
